Part 1
I find Mann’s use of black and white a good resource for when I should consider making any of my future photos black and white. In particular, I like how she relies on black and white coloring to really bring attention to the contrasting light in her images. I also find her positioning of her subjects to be very deliberate in what she wants to convey. It has given me inspiration for how I can place my subjects to more accurately convey whatever message I want to get across to my viewers.
Part 2
Hello,
I like the photos you chose to showcase. Your interpretation of the images as well as your use of photography vocabulary really shows that you are learning a lot from this class and applying it to what you see. I agree with how you compare and contrast the subjects in each photo to the background and foreground. I also agree with how you have categorized each picture, most being ethically evaluative with the exception of the landscape being aesthetically evaluative. In the future, I would suggest including the name of the images and when they were taken if possible. It may also help your interpretation if you consider strong lighting, its direction, and where the subject is in the picture in relation to everything else.
